Chemist and Graduate in Chemistry at Universidad de Santiago de Chile (1994), Chemistry PhD at Universidad de Santiago de Chile (1999).Posdoctorate at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso and Universidade Federal de Sao Carlos, Brazil.

He is currently working as an Associate Professor at Inorganic Chemistry Department of Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.

His research areas include the synthesis and characterization of nanostructured materials (metals and semiconductors) through electrochemical and chemical methods, application of these materials in the conversion phenomenon of solar energy to electricity and its use in oxidation of different organic compounds. Additionally, he uses a variety of Carbon-based electrodes (graphite and diamond) in the mineralization of water pollutant organic compounds, such as plasticizers.

Interest Areas

  • Synthesis and Characterization of Nanostructure through Electrochemical Techniques, Studies on Energy Conversion using Metallic Oxides like Photoelectrodes. Oxidation of Organic Compounds on Boron-doped Diamond Electrodes, Environmental Electrochemistry.
