I will review the framework of "Higgs inflation" in which the Standard Model Higgs boson is identified with the inflaton. I discuss the phenomenological implications of this very predictive model, as well as our recent work in which we analyze the running of the model's couplings from the 
electroweak to the inflationary scale.
