Materials Science is the art to combine fundamental and technical knowledge in order to understand and control the properties of matter to improve and create materials for higher living quality.

My research focuses on surface functionalization, which can be achieved by combining film deposition and surface modification processes. Both require the use of synthesis and characterization techniques currently used in Materials Science. In particular, I am currently setting up a clean laboratory to fabricate films and nanostructures by the combination of both chemical and physical vapor deposition processes. The variety of degrees of freedom involved in fabrication and modification spans diverse possibilities to improve and create novel materials for specific applications.
