Especialidad: Environmental Biogeochemistry, water quality, behaviour of metals in water and soil, heavy-metal contamination control, evaluation of environmental impact in aquatic media, biogeochemical modelling/environmental Biotehcnology.

Graduate in Civil Engineering at Pontificia Univesidad Católica de Chile. He received his Master's degree in Engineering Sciences from the same University and his Philosophy Doctor's degree from Northwestern University. Curretly, he is working as an Associate Professor at School of Engineering of Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.

Environmental Biotechnology, biogeochemical processes (specially, interaction between metals and microorganisms), evaluation and control of water quality, environmental impact and environmental management.
